National Engagement Strategy (NES™) Technical Assistance and Capacity Building – GHAP personnel have extensive experience of working in partnership with national authorities to ensure that pragmatic and proportionate solution-based responses can be adopted in response to the presence of illicit medicines. GHAP’s approach entails the provision of mentoring and guidance on effectively identifying those involved in the trade in illicit medicines and helping National Medical Regulatory Agencies (NMRA) and other national enforcement agencies to develop effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Tactics

Techniques and Procedures (TTPs). GHAP’s operational specialists provide mentoring and guidance on effective investigation and analysis techniques and help to ensure that enforcement operations are intelligence-led and conducted in a safe and secure manner, leading to successful prosecutions and convictions. GHAP personnel also provide training to NMRAs on the use and effective deployment of new technologies, including rapid authentication devices.
